About the Jewish Lens
The Jewish Lens (TJL) is a gateway to the exploration and discovery of Jewish identity, values, and Peoplehood. Through the use of photography and experiential Jewish curricula, our programs enable the next generation in the establishment of their own link to Jewish connectivity – while advancing the value of Klal Yisrael - celebrating the colorful tapestry of Jewish Peoplehood.
Founded by world-renowned photographer Zion Ozeri, TJL programs enable Jewish youth to see with their own eyes the wonder of Jewish life in its extraordinary diversity as well as its unity, and encourage them to craft their own narrative that links them to it. As we believe that arts and experiential education are important partners to traditional instruction - that pictures must go along with text in order to connect with people - we develop the programs to advance their use in formal and informal Jewish educational settings.
Imagine a moment frozen in time - the result of which leads to great potential in visual learning, intellectual and emotional stimulation, and development of analytical skills. Through the universal medium of photography, The Jewish Lens provides the next generation of Jews with an entry point to Jewish learning, skills development, and an opportunity to share their voice - their lens - with others.
